Euro 2024 – France vs Austria | Match Info, Preview & Lineup

The Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf will host the final Euro 2024 match on Monday, featuring in-form Austria against title favorites France in Group D.

Austria has never made it past the round of 16 in the European Championships, while France, with two titles, is looking to redeem itself after a disappointing run three years ago. Austria is missing some key players, including David Alaba and Sasa Kalajdzic due to ACL injuries, and Xaver Schlager, who has a serious knee problem.

However, veteran striker Marko Arnautovic is fit and ready, though Michael Gregoritsch is expected to start as the main striker in Ralf Rangnick’s 4-2-3-1 formation. Stefan Posch has recovered from a knee issue and is set to start in defense, despite Gernot Trauner missing training as a precaution.

For France, Kingsley Coman had an illness earlier in the week but should be fit to play. Kylian Mbappe, despite a knee scare in a friendly against Luxembourg, is also ready to go. Aurelien Tchouameni is still recovering from a foot injury, so Adrien Rabiot is expected to start in midfield.

Tchouameni is back in training but likely to be rested for the match against Austria. Joining Rabiot in midfield will be N’Golo Kante, who returns after a successful first year at Al-Ittihad and is expected to start over Warren Zaire-Emery and Eduardo Camavinga. In defense, William Saliba is now expected to start, with Ibrahima Konate moving to the bench after Didier Deschamps changed his mind.

This match promises to be a thrilling encounter as Austria and France both aim for a strong start in their Euro 2024 campaigns.
