India Shines in 2nd Innings of First Test Against Australia

India delivered a stellar performance in their second innings of the first Test against Australia, establishing a strong position in the match. By the close of play on the second day in Perth, India had reached 172 without loss, extending their lead to 218 runs.

Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul remained unbeaten with scores of 90 and 62, respectively. Jaiswal showcased remarkable patience, facing 193 deliveries and hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. Rahul played a steady knock, consuming 153 balls and striking 4 boundaries.

India had earlier been bowled out for 150 runs in their first innings on the opening day, with debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy top-scoring with 41. Josh Hazlewood was the standout bowler for Australia, claiming 4 wickets.

Australia’s first innings ended in a dismal 104 all out, having resumed the second day on 67 for 7. Mitchell Starc was their top scorer with 26 runs.
