Sudurpaschim Royals Hold Grand Rally in Dhangadhi Ahead of NPL

Sudurpaschim Royals, one of the teams in the Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League (NPL), organized a grand rally in Dhangadhi on Monday with thousands of participants. The event began at Dhangadhi’s Chauraha and concluded at the stadium, creating a festive atmosphere.

The rally saw participation from the team’s head coach Jagat Tamata, marquee player Dipendra Singh Airee, and players like Aarif Sheikh, Binod Bhandari, Ishan Pandey, and Amit Shrestha. Also present were Sudurpaschim Province’s Minister for Social Development Meghraj Khadka, CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand, team owner Swatantra Pratap Shah, Olympian and Royals’ brand ambassador Deepak Bista, and other notable figures from the sports fraternity.

The event included cultural showcases highlighting the local traditions and attire of the Sudurpaschim region. The team aims to represent the province on a global stage through cricket, as stated by CEO Prakash Khadka. He emphasized that the enthusiastic participation of locals boosted the team’s morale and strengthened their resolve to make the region proud.

The rally concluded with a program at the covered hall near the stadium. The team will continue training in Dhangadhi for the next few days to prepare for the NPL, scheduled from November 30 to December 21, featuring eight teams.

The Royals’ marquee player is all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, while former Nepal national coach Jagat Tamata serves as the head coach, and Australian cricketer Brad Hodge is the team mentor.
